The hunt for the ultimate basics are the toughest. Without a doubt. At first sight, this seems to be illogical ('A though hunt? You just go to H&M/Zara to buy these basics and you are done.'). However, when you think about it twice, it is actually far from that.
I bet real fashionistas (ugh, how much I hate that word) agree with me when stating that searching for the perfect basics can be a real pain in the *ss. Of course, Zara and H&M do sell plain white tees/basic black skinnies/simple grey v-neck sweaters, but when it comes to quality... After yet one wash these tees are filled with pills (you know, those annoying fluffy things on your clothes), your skinnies are shrunk so much that it looks like they belong to some seven year old girl and your sweaters are completely out of shape.
Hence I decided that when it comes to buying basics, I would no longer ran to H&M/Zara every week to get a new white top, but to save money and invest in more high-quality pieces. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done.
The last couple of weeks I tried about thirty pair of white skinnies on (I am not exaggerating), but without ANY RESULT. Why is it so damn hard to find a decent pair of jeans which is made out of decent quality?
Luckily I did not give up hope, and ran into my dream skinnies. Not to loose, not to skinny, not see-through and without pockets on the front side. Okay, I admit, there certainly where a lot of requirements which did not made the hunt easier, but if you can dream it (though in this case it is quite a materialistic dream) you can do it.
So let me present to you, my two favorite skinny jeans. Although finding them cost a good deal of trouble, they are worth every wear. Thanks to the great quality.
What is your point of view regarding basics? And where do you get them? The answer hopefully makes my next search a little bit easier...
