WHAT'S UP WITH THE STRIPES?

T-shirt Zara

Without a doubt in my 'most-annoying-situations-top-10': having seen something somewhere, wanting it yourself, searching high and low and eventually not being able to find it. To make this a little less cryptic, I will now involve my own experience into it.

A striped shirt - black&white or blue&white - was something what (almost) EVERY SINGLE GIRL (myself included) was wearing in our first years of high school, preferably worn with a blazer. At a certain moment however, I drastically changed my mind and threw my striped shirt away in protest. Basically, I just did not wanted to look like I was twins with every other girl at school.
Believe it or not, but this was big mistake. Of course it was a good thing to develop my own style, but I should have never banished that striped shirt. For around a year now, I see striped shirts popping up on several (street style) blogs and it is making me realize how badly I want such a multirole t-shirt.
To cut a long story short, until the day of yesterday I have not been able to found an affordable (I refuse to pay €100 for just a t-shirt) one and I had almost give up hope.
This morning I went to the Zara to look for those extremely cool Celine-ish pony hair sneakers, but again no fortuitous turn of events (if anyone lives near a shop where they still sell them in EU38, please contact me!). Frustrated I was about to walk out of the shop, when I suddenly saw something black&white in the corner of my eye. There, in one of those sale-piles only Zara can have, was MY shirt. Praying it would be size S, I run towards it and dived into the pile (in fact it was all less dramatic, but what's wrong with a little exaggerating?).

The rest is history.
